The use of point of care ultrasound in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) is continuously increasing.

Ultrasounds are becoming a core skill for any intensivist.

This is particularly true for what concerns the evaluation of heart and lungs. Hemodynamic monitoring on the other hand allows the clinician to continuously monitor the situation even between ultrasound examinations.

Therefore, mastering Ultrasounds and hemodynamic monitoring gives the intensivist a unique set of skills to manipulate bedside therapy in the elds of shock and hemodynamic instability in wide range of diseases, ranging from trauma, ARDS, cardiogenic shock, hemorrhagic shock, respiratory failure etc.
